History
The Stanley station is constructed of wood siding and the entrance roadway is unpaved.
Stanley was founded in 1902 and is known for its decorative fire hydrants. Every hydrant in town is painted with a different historical figure. Strolling around town you could pass anyone from Betsy Ross to Abraham Lincoln to Neil Armstrong.
From mid December, 2010 until the end of January, 2011, the station will be receiving upgrades funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act: 165 feet of platform will be replaced as well as placement of the wheelchair lift shelter and accessible parking areas.
Amtrak does not provide ticketing or baggage services at this facility. A caretaker opens and closes the station, which is served daily by two trains.
