WASHINGTON – Amtrak will host an open house on Thursday, July 28 at Washington Union Station to introduce the Concourse Modernization Project now under design. Union Station’s rail concourse will be modernized and reconfigured to double its present capacity and alleviate congested conditions.

The Concourse Modernization Project is the first set of improvements to come to life as part of Washington Union Station’s 2nd Century plan – a comprehensive set of improvement initiatives to greatly expand rail and passenger facilities over the next 20 years.

Amtrak invites Union Station customers to attend an open house to speak with project representatives and learn more about the project’s conceptual design, schedule and impacts. The open house will take place from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Starlight Room which can be accessed via Gate D in the rail concourse.
