Springfield, IL station

A Springfield station (Springfield, IL) (SPI) upgrade is being considered due to dramatically increased usage of the station. Cost has not been determined, but the city plans to contribute money from a downtown tax increment financing (TIF) district to help pay for improvements. Plans for restoring the 100+ year old station range from restoring the oak benches in the waiting room to repaving the parking lot and adding space, adding landscaping and period lighting.
