History
Red Wing's historic station was built by the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad (Milwaukee Road) and is a beautifully restored gateway to the recreation, arts and commerce of this vibrant city on the west bank of the Mississippi River.
The Red Wing Area Fund, a private entity comprised of local philanthropists, purchased the station building from the railroad, funded the renovation and gifted the station to the city in 1990. The Red Wing Area Fund purchased the station from the city in 2003 and remains the owner today.
The building houses the Red Wing Visitor and Convention Bureau, an Amtrak train station and features a museum.
Amtrak does not provide ticketing or baggage services at this station. The tourism agency's caretaker opens and closes the station.
The Redwing station is served daily by two trains.
